1. Look Around

You would be surprised how much inspiration is right in front of you, right outside. I will admit there are a lot of days I don’t feel very “inspired.” I don’t know why, but inspiration comes with a heavy burden and expectations sometimes. I feel guilty if I don’t feel inspired. I am always waiting for this huge thing to happen or story to break.

I can remember as a young girl looking at my mom with awe as she went out for the evening. She was in a fitted sparkly dress with high shoulder pads, black tights, and black heels. Her hair was perfectly feathered on each side and her cheeks had the perfect color pink on them. As she leaned in to curl her eyelashes and apply one more layer of eye shadow, I waited for her to spray her perfume as I could smell the remnants of it well after she left. She grabbed her purse and kissed me goodbye. I smiled back as I knew I wanted to be just like her.

Ahhh….one of my favorite words and topics. It just makes me feel good to say the word aloud. Do me a favor please. Say it aloud, and then say one person or thing that inspires you. Ok, now don’t you feel inspired? Or at least better than a few minutes ago? I hope the answer is yes, but if it’s not, you will feel inspired in no time!
