There is no end date. When all of this started, it was mass chaos. We were told to stay in our homes until further notice. In my mind, I was going to make the best out of it. There was surely going to be an end date. We would be let out into this new world, and although different, it would be good.

I sure have a lot of them, and they are hard and amazing all at the same time. I used to hold in a lot of my thoughts and emotions when I was younger. At some point, I became the opposite and I let out a lot of my emotion. It felt uncomfortable, but it also felt freeing. It allowed me to connect to others on a deeper level, which was amazing.

I avoid my feelings by keeping busy: So, this took some time for me to realize and admit after much thinking and squashing of the ego. But there definitely is some truth to it. I like to keep busy as it makes me feel accomplished and helps to keep me motivated. For a very long time, my anxiety defined me. I wasn’t able to do the simplest of tasks. But I took everything I had inside of me, worked hard, and began to live again.

People are showing who they truly are as a people: When this first happened, I was scared, and this seemed like a never-ending nightmare. It was surreal. As the time went on, the fear continued, but I started to see acts of kindness. It seriously melted my heart.

Scrolling through and reading every article is NOT good: It is so tempting to look at everything that you scroll through, that is sent to you, and let’s face it, we all have that one friend that sends us all of the worst news they hear. It consumes our minds, and before we know it, our anxiety begins to spiral.

We are all in this together, and that’s calming and scary at the same time: This pandemic does not discriminate. I have said that we have been in things together before, but we truly are in this together.
