Because Anxiety Said So: My Love/Hate Relationship with Anxiety

Compassion, awareness, empathy in toll,
Qualities I love, bring comfort to my soul.

Alert, proactive, energy for days,
I prayed to the Lord these would always be my ways.

Sadness, fear, energy low,
Some days I can hardly move, not even very slow.

Shaky, racing thoughts, emotions up in the air,
Everything finds me, boy do I care.

This is my life, my burden to bear,
Like my mama told me, life isn’t always fair.
