I pray that we all find happiness...

I pray that we all find happiness. More than the temporary kind; more fulfilling than the impulsive kind. The real kind, in present tense. More than the hopeful futuristic version; more than the kind that originates from others. The kind of happiness that radiates throughout your face. It makes a home in your heart, warmth in your belly, and fire in your soul. Even on the bad days, it remains within you. That's the happiness I want for us all. That's the kind of happiness we all deserve.

I have to remind myself often that most of us are trying our best...

I have to remind myself often that most of us are trying our best; we are trying to navigate this life that can be so confusing & difficult. We have all been through experiences that hurt us deeply. We are full of triggers even though we are healing. We cling to behaviors that are not always becoming like control and jealousy. We show our pain in different ways; it makes it difficult for others to understand why we say the things we say, and do the things we do. We are judged by saying too much & judged for saying nothing at all. We are in the process of learning more & growing more, & we need the space & compassion from others to just be human. Let's allow for the learning curve. Let's allow for educating & listening. Let's allow for the difference in perspectives, & lead with an open mind & an open heart.

“Rejection is not a loss. It’s a chance for redirection.”

Nobody likes rejection. Even typing the word makes me think back to the days I felt like a failure. Rejection stung so bad. I wanted to look at it in a positive way. I wanted to believe people when they said that it wasn’t the right fit.

"People who never apologize are the reason so many of us over apologize."

Wouldn’t it be nice if we all just took accountability for our actions and apologized? I wish. Those three simple words are so difficult for people and cause the demise of many relationships. I am sorry can make such a difference, yet we allow ourselves, our egos, and right fighting (amongst other things) to get in the way. To some, getting an apology might not be necessary for them to forgive and move forward. But, at least for me, it was essential for me to move forward.

“Change is your greatest gift masked in fear.”

Change has always been very exciting for me. However, the act of changing has been one of my biggest struggles. I am a dreamer, and I loved the idea of moving different places, changing up my hair and style, and changing the status of relationships. I was in a constant battle with yearning for change and growth and feeling comfortable in the monotony of life.
